What is a DITY/PPM Move?
A Personally Procured Move (PPM), formerly known as a DITY (Do-It-Yourself) move, allows military members to move their household goods themselves instead of using a government-contracted moving company.
The military reimburses you a portion (typically 95%) of what it would have cost them to hire professional movers. If your actual expenses are less than this amount, you pocket the difference as profit.
Key Requirements:
- Get certified weight tickets (empty and full truck weight)
- Keep all receipts for expenses
- Complete the move within your authorized travel dates
- File claim within 45 days of delivery
